Cedar International Trust rushed to rescue Wuhan with RMB 10 million and medical supplies

On 25 January, the first day of the lunar new year, Cedar International Trust, a subsidiary of Cedar Holdings, a Guangzhou-based private enterprise, donated RMB 10 million to the Wuhan Charity Federation through the Guangzhou Charity Association. Cedar International Trust also donated its first batch of medical supplies to the Wuhan Red Cross, including 40,000 disposable surgical masks, 5,000 N95 respirators, and 200 protective clothes, which are intended to be used for the prevention and control of the new coronavirus spread in Wuhan. Cedar Holdings and Cedar International Trust are the first Guangzhou enterprise and the first trust enterprise to make large donations to Wuhan, said The Guangzhou Charity Association.

In response to the shortage of medical supplies for the prevention of new coronavirus in Wuhan and other affected areas, Cedar Holdings issued an urgent call to all its staff on New Year's Eve: "To everyone of Cedar, please do your best to contact protect gears manufacturers as many as possible. We will buy as many as they can offer and send them to Wuhan. We will always be there for people in Wuhan!"

Cedar Holdings is a Fortune Global 500 private company focusing on commodities business. In the absence of medical resources though, it mobilized all employees to actively contact relevant medical supplies through their personal networks. Many employees of Cedar stayed over the New Year's Eve searching for various medical products suppliers, donation agencies, medically inadequate hospitals and clinics, as well as delivery service providers. Cedar's efforts of searching and sourcing medical supplies are still going on.

Wuhan Charity Federation and Wuhan Red Cross are two designated receivers of donations to Wuhan New Coronavirous Spread Prevention and Control Command. In principle, donated funds and supplies are distributed by Wuhan New Coronavirous Spread Prevention and Control Command. Wuhan Charity Federation and Wuhan Red Cross will make public the amount and use of donations in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, and at the same time, subject themselves to public oversight.
