On March 20, commissioning and trial production of key projects in the 1st quarter of 2020 was announced in Guangzhou Development District and Guangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone in order to facilitate the "new infrastructure construction". Altogether 24 key projects mainly involving new infrastructure construction, biomedicine and advanced manufacturing officially went into trial production in a ceremony streamed live on cloud. The estimated output of these projects is RMB 117.2 billion.
Also joining the ceremony are a group of headquarters buildings and incubators that will open to serve as ancillary facilities. Among them, Cedar Centre, as the global headquarters of Cedar Holdings was officially put into use on the same day.
With Cedar Centre going into operation,
"Science Avenue - Kaichuang Avenue Headquarters Economy Corridor"
is taking shape.
Located in the central area of Guangzhou Science City, Cedar Centre, the key construction project of Guangzhou and Guangdong province, is consisted of two large office towers, one annex building and a sunken plaza. With a total investment of RMB 1 billion, Cedar Centre covers has a gross floor area of 100,000 m2, designed to accommodate 3,500 staff.
Staff from Cedar Holdings and its core subsidiary, Commodities Group, have moved in the new headquarters already.

King Cheung, Chairman of the Board of Cedar Holdings gave a speech in the ceremony as a representative of enterprises involved in the key projects. Boost the “new infrastructure construction" and
Speed up the headquarters economy of Guangzhou
"New infrastructure" is becoming a Chinese buzzword in 2020. Closely related to new & high-tech, "new infrastructure" acts as an important carrier for smart, digital and IT-based development.
Among 24 projects commissioned and put into trial production, 8 of them fall in the category of "new infrastructure construction", accounting for 33% of the total number of the projects, 5 are in the biomedicine and healthcare area, 7 belong to advanced manufacturing and 4 are headquarters buildings and ancillary facilities. All of them are expected to generate about RMB 117.2 billion in output (revenue), leading to a good start in the economic development of the 1st quarter of 2020.

Huangpu District and Guangzhou Development District as important economic zones of Guangzhou, makes the second largest contribution to its GDP. Their gross industrial output of industrial enterprises ranks first in Guangzhou, comprising 40% of the total output. As Huangpu District is growing rapidly, Guangzhou Science City is seeing construction of headquarters buildings of several large enterprises including Cedar Centre. "Science Avenue - Kaichuang Avenue Headquarters Economy Corridor" is taking shape.
